Diploma of Community Services

The diploma is specifically designed to give you the right skills and knowledge to work with people, and assist them in seeking solutions to a range of personal and social issues.

Community Services workers work in many aspects of people’s lives and may work with children and families, senior citizens, those living with disabilities, those suffering drug and alcohol dependency, those living with a mental illness, immigrants, ex-offenders or the homeless.

You’ll develop real-world skills and will complete 100 hours of vocational placement to practise your skills.

Course details:

The CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services is a 12 month course consisting of 16 units of study that are divided into 3 major clusters of learning.

Students completing the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services are also required to complete 100 hours of unpaid vocational placement which will form part of their assessment.

You’ll learn to:

  • Work with people to resolve issues
  • Support people in difficult situations
  • Work intensively with clients
  • Case manage and counsel clients
  • Work with other health and human services providers on behalf of your client

Eligibility Requirements:

Students need to be eligible to apply for a Suitability for Working with Children Check and/or a Criminal History Check, depending on the state in which they live/work. Students must also be at least 18 years of age.

The tuition fees for this course are $10,000.
