BSB50615 Diploma of Human Resources

The purpose of this Student Enrolment Agreement is to give you complete information about the BSB50615 - Diploma of Human Resources Management course you are enrolling in with EVOCCA College.

This agreement must be given to you prior to enrolment in this course (as per Standards for RTOs 2015). It is very important that, as the student, you read and understand all this information and that you are comfortable with the requirements of the course before your enrolment.

Please read this document carefully and sign, indicating that you fully understand this agreement.

1. Requirements of the BSB50615 - Diploma of Human Resources Management

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a variety of roles within the human resources sector who have a sound theoretical knowledge base in human resources management and demonstrate a range of managerial skills to ensure that human resources functions are effectively conducted in an organisation or business area. Typically they would have responsibility for the work of other staff>

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

2. Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are:

  • Minimum age requirement: 17 years
    (Students under the age of 18 must complete a consent form)
  • LLN skills
  • IT skills
  • Ability to achieve a Diploma level qualification

3. Mode of Delivery

This qualification can be completed face-to-face, online or blended (a combination of both face-to-face and online).

4. Student Entry Enrolment Procedure

The purpose of a Student Entry Enrolment Procedure is to ensure students are academically suited to the course they are enrolling in. As a part of this process you would have already:

  • Completed an Application form.
  • Attended an information Session with a Course Advisor either over the phone or at your chosen campus.
  • Completed a Student Enrolment Agreement (this document).

In addition to these steps you will be required to:

  • Complete a Pre-Enrolment Profile which includes basic Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessments.
  • Demonstrate required LLN competence by either:
    • Providing a copy of a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education that has been awarded to you, as the student, by an agency or authority or:
    • Completing a further assessment of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) to display adequate competence at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both reading and numeracy.
    • Demonstrate the ability to complete a Diploma qualification.
  • Attend an orientation workshop if you are a campus-based student.
  • Complete a Request for VET FEE-HELP application if you are choosing to use VET FEE-HELP.

5. Delivery Selection

You will now need to consider what mode of delivery you would like to use to complete your studies in this qualification. You will be able to select from the following:

  • Face-to-Face
  • Online
  • Blended (combination)

6. VET FEE-HELP and Course Payment Options

As a student you have the option of paying your course fees or applying for VET FEE-HELP assistance.


VET FEE-HELP (VFH) assistance is a loan from the Commonwealth which is available to eligible students studying higher level vocational education and training (VET) qualifications to pay their tuition fees. As a student, this loan:

  • will remain as a personal debt obligation and is expected to be repaid
  • may affect your take-home wage or salary until the debt is repaid
  • may affect the your borrowing capacity until the debt is repaid
  • will incur further Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjustments each year
  • is for the entire VET course of study, charged by cluster, unless some of the tuition fees are paid by you, the student.
  • does not have to be repaid until your income is above the minimum repayment threshold for compulsory repayment which is $54,126 for the 2015-16 income year.
  • will be deducted from your FEE-HELP limit which is the maximum loan amount you can borrow under FEE-HELP (and VET FEE-HELP) over your lifetime. This can be found in the VET FEE-HELP Information booklet.

To apply for a VET FEE-HELP loan:

  • You will need a tax file number (TFN)
  • A VET FEE-HELP assistance form will be sent to you to complete at the time of enrolment. EVOCCA cannot accept this form until 2 working days after your enrolment, if you choose to use VET FEE-HELP assistance. This form is to be submitted to be eligible for a VET FEE-HELP loan. Please ensure that you have read the VET FEE-HELP information for 2016 booklet.
  • You must be an Australian citizen, a New Zealand Special Category Visa holder or a permanent Humanitarian Visa holder who is resident in Australia for the duration of study.
  • There is no age restriction on VET FEE-HELP, however each course will have a minimum age requirement according to the RTOs policy.

7. Course Costs

This diploma has 8 units of competency (see below) that are divided into three (3) clusters.

The VFH costs of this course are as follows:

  • Total course cost $16,500
  • 20% VFH loan fee is applied to this debt by the government
  • The first cluster has a cost of $5,500 in addition to the VFH loan fee
  • The second cluster has a cost of $5,500 in addition to the VFH loan fee
  • The third cluster has a cost of $5,500 in addition to the VFH loan fee

This diploma is broken down into three (3) clusters. Each cluster has a census date that must be at least 20% of the way through the study period (cluster). After each census date is passed a Commonwealth Assessment Notice (CAN) notice is sent to you outlining the feesthat have accrued.

The first census date in this Diploma is 21 days after commencement.

Students enrolling without VET FEE-HELP will not incur the 20% VFH loan fee and will only be charged the original cost of the course.

8. Cooling off period

Once you have enrolled you have up until your first census date as ‘A cooling off period’. This means you can withdraw from the course up until that first census date without incurring fees or charges.

9. Credit Transfer and RPL

Credit Transfer – if you have undertaken any studies previously, you may apply for credit transfer as soon as you are enrolled. An application for credit transfer should be submitted prior to the first census date to ensure you are not charged for those units.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – you can at any time apply for RPL whilst undertaking your study. EVOCCA has an RPL kit for this course and once enrolled your tutor can assist with your RPL application. There is no reduction of fees for the RPL of a unit, however it can shorten the overall length of your course.

11. Cancellation of your course

As a student you can withdraw from your course at any time. If you withdraw from a course or VET unit of study (cluster) on or before the published census date then you will not incur a debt for that VET unit of study. Any withdrawal after the published census date will incur a debt for that VET unit of study, however, special circumstances may apply where you can qualify for a VFH re-credit or a FFS refund (see section 13). Any request to withdraw must be submitted in writing.

12. Complaints and Appeals

If you have any complaints or concerns, please do not hesitate to bring it to our attention straight away.

13. Re-crediting of VFH debt and FFS refunds

There are special circumstances where a student can apply for the re-credit of their VET FEE-HELP debt or a refund of their Fee for Service course fees.

14. Technology Access

EVOCCA promotes the use of mobile technology as a learning tool for all of its programs, providing students with an easily accessible on-line platform to complete their studies, in particular access to (my.evocca), upload and download of assessments, recording of practical’s etc.

16. Insurance

EVOCCA has and will maintain insurance to cover any event whereby EVOCCA or a third party delivering on our behalf can no longer provide services. This includes fee protection (i.e. refunds) and/or support to transition to another provider. This insurance is provided through the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET). 17. Training and Assessment

ACTE Pty Ltd is responsible for the quality of your Training and Assessment and welcomes any feedback from students.

18. Issuance of Qualifications

EVOCCA College is responsible for issuing any Qualification and/or Statement of Attainment upon the completion of study.

21. USI

22. Study

To successfully achieve this qualification, you will have to undertake a range of study activities each week. These activities will include reading learning material and researching information to assist your learning.

This qualification will require a minimum commitment of 15 to 20 hours of study per week.

23. Study Location

Evocca provides a blended learning platform which allows you to study from home or to drop into one of our campuses which are situated in metropolitan areas where available. Our student portal allows you the flexibility of being able to access your learning resources from any device as long as you have an internet connection. Training is also provided online. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage planning in relation to an organisation's workforce including researching requirements, developing objectives and strategies, implementing initiatives and monitoring and evaluating trends.

BSBHRM506 - Manage recruitment selection and induction processes

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage all aspects of recruitment selection and induction processes in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage employee and industrial relations matters in an organisation. It involves developing and implementing employee and industrial relations policies and plans and managing conflict resolution negotiations.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop, implement and review guidelines and procedures for mediation within an organisation, or on behalf of an organisation.

BSBHRM507 - Manage separation or termination

Volume of learning: 50 hours
Reading: 20 hours.
Learning: 20 hours.
Assessment: 10 hours.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to deal with redeployment, resignation, retirement, dismissal and redundancy, including the conduct of exit interviews.

BSBWHS401 - Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements

Volume of learning: 50 hours
Reading: 20 hours.
Learning: 20 hours.
Assessment: 10 hours.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor an organisation’s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area in order to meet legislative requirements.

Note: The terms 'occupational health and safety' (OHS) and 'work health and safety' (WHS) are equivalent and generally either can be used in the workplace. In jurisdictions where the Model WHS Legislation has not been implemented RTOs are advised to contextualise the unit of competency by referring to the existing State/Territory OHS legislative requirements.

28. Support EVOCCA Offers

EVOCCA offers a range of support to our students throughout their study. This includes educational and support services that as a student, you may need to assist you in course achievement. The following is an outline of the support EVOCCA gives each student:

  • An Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is a plan that is developed upon completion of the enrolment process. This plan outlines the type of support and strategies to be supplied and includes how the plan will be monitored on a weekly basis.
  • The type of support EVOCCA can provide includes:
    • LLN support
    • Career coaching
    • Assistance for physical impairments
    • Assistive technology (e.g. text-to-speech)
    • Assistance in using technology (e.g. Microsoft Workshops)
    • Vocational Placement (where applicable)

There are no additional charges for this support.

29. Support the student would be required to source themselves.

EVOCCA cannot supply all the different types of support to assist a learner such as:

  • Counselling
  • Housing support
  • Financial advice
  • Legal support
  • Advocacy
  • Medical support

All these types of support would be at the student’s expense.
